Airport Infrastructure
Algeria has 36 airports opened to Public Air Traffic (C.A.P), including 12 international airports.
The main airport (Algiers airport) treats more than 6 million passengers per year. Several projects have been launched in order to develop the aviation sector such as:
A program which aims to acquire 16 new aircrafts for the public company Air Algérie and the introduction of Tassili Airlines into national and international markets.
The opening of several new air lines by the two national companies.
The Algiers International airport has 3 terminals for international, domestic and charter flights.
The 2 national companies serve most of the Algerian civil airports from the Algiers airport.

Visa
Delegations wishing to visit Algeria must present on arrival a valid passport for more than 6 months and a visa issued by the Algerian Embassy or Consulate situated in the applicant's usual residence. You are kindly asked to check with your Embassy or the Algerian Embassy in your country in advance if your country needs an entry visa to Algeria.
Hereafter, a list of participating countries where visa is not required:

For holders of diplomatic passports: Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Romania.

For holders of service passports: Bulgaria, Spain, France, Greece, Italy and Poland.
Taxes
The payment of a chancellery fee is required for the issuance of Visa; the price varies according to the nationality of the applicant.
Extension of stay in Algeria:
The Visa can be extended under certain conditions in Algeria before the expiry of the current Visa.
Contact the Foreign Office in the Wilayas (Departments) where the foreigner is staying.
Visa procedure for countries without Algerian diplomatic representation:
It should be noted that for some countries, where Algeria does not have an Embassy or Consulate, the visa can be obtained upon arrival at the airport. However, we will assist all delegations that need to obtain a visa on arrival. For this purpose, all delegations are requested to send their contact details (surname and first name, passport number, date of issue and expiry, flight details) to Mr Sofiane OUFFA: sofiane.ouffa@energy.gov.dz and attach a copy of the passport.
