Plenary Meeting room

The Forum plenary meetings will be held in the Auditorium (ground floor), at the higher school of hospitality and catering of Algiers. The room is equipped with office supplies, sound, displays and Wi-Fi.

 

Internet Access

Wireless internet access is available throughout the Forum.

 

Passport and Visa Information

All visitors must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Algeria. For visa information, please consult the visa section in the website.

 

Welcoming at the Airport

Algiers' Houari Boumediene International Airport is a modern facility located approximately 20 km from the city center or around half an hour drive. A welcoming team will be available at the airport to arrange the transfer of all delegates

Transfers

Transportation from the airport to the recommended organizer hotel and meeting venue will be provided to all delegates.

Transport in Algiers

By its strategic location, Algiers offers all comfort means of mobility to its visitors in terms of travel and transportation by buses, taxis and connection between different wilayas. The country has a modern and well-developed transportation network that preserves the environment by using the subway and tram, structured in a way to effectively connect the suburbs of Algiers and promote different sites such as socio-economic structures, academics and large urban centers and improving the quality of life of the citizens.

Currently, two metro lines and tram are operated and are being under exploitation to provide better coverage and adapt well to the requirements and the demand for transport in Algiers.

Linguistic Support

Simultaneous interpretation to and from Arabic, English, and French will be provided during the Forum plenary meetings.

 

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly forbidden at the Forum venue:

Weapons: fire arms, gas weapons, air guns, cold weapons and everything that can be equated to them, as well as gas cans, knives.

Piercing and cutting items, razors, flagpoles, scissors and other items that may be dangerous to other people.

 

Currency

Decimal currency is used in Algeria with the Dinar as the basic unit (100 cents = 1DA). Bills come in 2000 DA, 1000 DA, 500 DA, 200 DA, and 100 DA. Coins come in 1 DA, 2 DA, 5 DA, 10 DA, 20 DA, 50 DA, 100 DA and 200 DA denominations.

You can exchange foreign currency in the banks and cash dispensers available in banks, the airport and hotels.

 

Business Hours

Banks generally open from 09:00 – 15:00 hours, from Sunday to Thursday.

 

Climate

Algiers has a Mediterranean climate with long hot summers days. Winters are mild and wet and snow is rather rare. Rainfalls are abundant and sometimes torrential.

  • Summer (Jun - Aug) : 27-31 °C

  • Autumn (Sep – Dec) : 25-17°C

Electricity

Electrical current has a voltage of 220 V and a frequency of 50Hz (French electrical outlet plugs).

 

Language

The official languages in Algeria are Arabic and Tamazight.
